About the Committee
The First Committee of the General Assembly deals with disarmament, global challenges and threats to peace that affect the international community. It considers all disarmament and international security matters within the scope of the Charter or relating to the powers and functions of any other organ of the United Nations.
The Committee addresses a broad range of subjects related to disarmament, from weapons of mass destruction to conventional arms, from outer space to cyber security. Delegates will engage in substantive discussions on current global security challenges and work towards comprehensive solutions.
